Rural Illiteracy Society Education
WHO WE ARE
Rural Illiteracy Society Education (RISE) is a non governmental, non profitable service oriented, rural illiteracy grass root level, social development organization of Nepal. Its central office is located at Katuwa village & Contact office is in Taulihawa, headquarter of Kapilvastu district, in the Lumbini Pardesh of Nepal. RISE was legally registered in D.A.O. on Ashad 19 and S.W.C in Ashoj 26, 2052 B.S. (1995 A.D.) respectively. Although, before it was activated under the organizational name such as Rural Gaun shiksha Samiti.
At the present time. RISE has been conducting various programs in Kapilvastu, Jajarkot, Banke and Nawalparasi district of western Nepal. It is highly engaged to empower the rural illiteracy at grass root level backward ethnic groups particularly Tharu, Magar, Gurung, Yadav and Harijan.

Distinct and measurable improvement in awareness and educational condition of poor, disadvantaged and marginalized families benefiting children and women.
Enhancing these families’ knowledge & skills and bringing up their potentials by increasing participation in every aspect of development and equal access on national and local resources and enjoying their rights enshrined in the UN charter of human rights.

Uplift the physical, social, economic and educational status of rural life by utilizing the local resources.
Goal
Bring changes to fulfill the rights of children and women on development and participation and increase access on resources to women, and assist women achieving their rights.
Our Objective
- Reduce illiteracy through formal and non-formal education.
- Promote and preserve ancient art and culture locally and nationally.
- Focus on socio-economic and cultural development in rural illiterate communities.
- Support alternative income generation activities and ancient skills for rural illiterate people.
- Advocate for basic human rights of poor rural populations.
- Alleviate poverty through income generation activities for poor, Dalits, and Janajatis in collaboration with the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF).
